Some individuals may think we are crazy hoarders for our scrap pile, but it has become very handy to have. Not only do we see our pile as a hedge against inflation, but we have been able to pull pieces from it to create or fix items in order to further our goal of self sufficiency.
This week for you we have:
A few planters we are thinking of using to contain some pond plants we intend to add. We were thinking of creating brackets that hook over the edge to hold these and then cover the brackets with stone. Kind of like creating a mini bog.
Here we have additional planting pots that we can use for starters next year. Being that these are of a larger variety, we might use them to start a couple fruit trees.
An old rug. We are going to cut this into strips and lay in between our vegetable rows to contain the crab grass. We don't get very many weeds but the crab grass always finds it's way into our garden and effortlessly takes it over.
So there you have it. This weeks Whatcha Find Wednesday. These may not seem like much but like I said before we have been able to find purpose for many of the items we find to further our goal of self sufficiency. One man's junk is another man's treasure.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week and happy hunting.
